Privacy Policy

The short version
PhotoPuma is a photo editor that runs entirely in your web browser. Your photos are opened, edited and exported on your own device — they are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We have no servers that receive your images, and no account to sign up for.
Your photos and projects
Everything you do in the editor happens locally. When you import a photo, it is loaded into your browser's memory and rendered on a canvas on your device. Background removal runs in your browser too. When you export, the finished image is generated on your device and saved directly to it.
To let you pick up where you left off, PhotoPuma autosaves your open project to your browser's local storage (IndexedDB). This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Information we don't collect
We never receive your photos or edited projects, and there are no accounts, so we don't ask for your name or email address. Because there is no backend, there is nothing for us to collect on our own servers.
If you email us — for example with a “Report a problem” link — we receive your email address and whatever you write. Problem reports start with the page address, your browser's user-agent string and your screen size filled in, to help us reproduce the problem; you can edit or delete any of it before sending. We use these emails only to reply and to fix problems.
Third-party services
A few things touch your requests to the site:
- Hosting (Cloudflare). PhotoPuma is served as static files by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard technical request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
- Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics). We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't follow you across sites. It records things like the page visited, the site that linked to it, your country, and your browser and device type.
- Editor usage counts. The first time in a visit that you add a photo, and the first time you save an image, the editor requests a tiny file from our site so we can count how often the editor is used. Nothing about you or your photo is sent — it's an ordinary request, with no cookie or identifier.
- Links to our other tools. Landing pages link to InvoiceIguana and Website Wombat. If you follow one, that site can see you came from PhotoPuma, and its own privacy policy applies.
Cookies
PhotoPuma doesn't set cookies and doesn't show third-party ads. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie (such as __cf_bm) to protect the site from bots. Your browser's storage holds your autosaved project, as described above, plus a short-lived flag used to reload cleanly after a site update. If we ever add advertising, we'll update this policy first.
Children's privacy
PhotoPuma is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of PhotoPuma after changes means you accept the updated policy.
